New to the Lending Library - Rugged Robot Coding Kits!

Rugged Robot Coding Kits

Explore our new Rugged Robots designed for indoor and outdoor learning!

The National Lending Library now offers new Rugged Robot Coding Kits, created to help teachers bring coding and digital technologies to life for Primary students. These durable, programmable, Bluetooth-enabled robots are built for curious learners and are just as comfortable navigating classroom floors as they are exploring outdoor settings like playgrounds, ovals or gardens for extended learning.

What’s inside the kit:

  • 4 Rugged Robots
  • 4 iPads - including the Rugged Robot app for controlling the robots
  • Resource book and lesson activity ideas

Rugged Robots give students the chance to experiment with sequencing, direction, problem-solving and simple programming. With their tough construction, adjustable speed settings and optional obstacle sensors, they open up opportunities for creative challenges and STEM learning across the curriculum.

For a quick starting point, check out our Rugged Robot one-pager activity guide for ideas to use Rugged Robots in the maths classroom exploring activities on informal measurement, angles, and measuring time and distance.

This kit supports students to learn basic coding, sequencing, measurement and directional language through hands-on, collaborative path creation.
