Maths in Schools

The University of Adelaide is pleased to deliver the Maths in Schools Professional Learning program as a component of the 'Maths in Schools Teaching and Learning Resources for Schools Project'. This project is an initiative of, and funded by, the Australian Government Department of Education. 

In collaboration with Education Services Australia, who is delivering The Mathematics Hub, the CSER STEM Team at the University of Adelaide has developed a suite of professional learning courses, workshops and downloadable resources for teachers aligned with V9.0 Australian Curriculum: Mathematics.

    Maths Professional Learning Request

  • Maths Online Courses (MOOCs)

    We have created three free online Maths Professional Learning courses (MOOCs) for educators across Foundation to Year 10 aligned to V 9.0 of the Australian Curriculum. 

    • Foundation - Year 2 Maths MOOC
    • Year 3 -Year 6 Maths MOOC
    • Year 7 -10 Maths MOOC 

    To register for a MOOC, visit the Maths in Schools Professional Learning page on the Mathematics Hub.

    All MOOCs are aligned to the Australian Curriculum and provide immediately applicable ideas for the classroom. The MOOCs provide self-paced learning and can be completed on your own or in a group with peers or as a whole school approach.

    Each MOOC also has an online Community 'Hive' to encourage participants to share ideas and learn from one another. You can revisit the MOOCs at anytime.

  • Offline support (request resources on USB)

    USBs with Maths in Schools course content will be available later in 2023 for schools with low internet access. You can register your interest for a copy.

    Our Project Officers have a diverse mix of skills, experience and qualifications and they are keen to support schools with mathematics education. Their goal is to build teacher confidence and enjoyment of maths, in turn supporting students to love maths too! Find out more about the project officers and leadership team.
