All in for Reconciliation Week

All In - Reconciliation Week 2026

The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In, a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

It is an invitation to us all to jump in, build connections, share the work and acknowledge that First Nations people 'have carried the weight of championing, explaining and acting for too long'. (Reconciliation Australia )

Our Maths in Schools team has developed a range of resources to support educators make connections and deliver engaging lessons addressing important cultural connections from the Cross Curriculum Priority, Australian Curriculum: Mathematics and Digital Technologies.

For example, we invite you to watch our on demand webinar "First Nations Navigation & Mapping using digital tools" Delivered by Dr Caty Morris, CSER Maths in Schools and ATSIMA, and Toni Falusi, CSER Team.

Blending Maths & Digital Technologies, participants will use AI & Delightex (CoSpaces) to design & create a 3D landscape or navigation-inspired image, drawing on cultural & environmental elements. Using a collection of Winyama icons, participants will personalise their digital landscape to represent key features of a journey, map or navigation path.

This webinar introduces the 9 rich contexts in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures cross-curriculum priority in the Australian Curriculum: Mathematics. It explores First Nations’ navigation and mapping, showing how this context is integrated in the Maths in Schools online courses and supported by resources available through the CSER Lending Library.

This session is suitable for Primary and Secondary teachers ready to incorporate digital tools and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures cross-curriculum priority into maths and Digital Technologies. No prior AI or VR skills are needed as we’ll walk you through every step and provide access to all resources.

A related lesson plan and teacher background information are also available from our National Lending Library under the DelightEx kit.

The Maths in Schools Teaching and Learning Resources to support Mathematics is an initiative of and supported by the Australian Government Department of Education.
