Márta Svéd Scholarship supporting women in maths

Applications are now open for the Márta Svéd Scholarship - an exciting opportunity established by the School of Mathematical Sciences to support three women to undertake a Bachelor of Mathematics program at the Adelaide University.

Each scholarship provides $5,000 (AUD) along with a personal staff mentor and access to a range of initiatives throughout your degree.

About Márta Svéd

Márta Svéd was a Hungarian mathematician who moved to Australia in the 1930s and became a teacher of mathematics at the University of Adelaide. She won the BH Neumann Award of the Australian Mathematics Trust in 1994. The award citation credited her in particular for the flourishing of mathematics competitions in Australia and the success of Australia in international mathematics competitions. The School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences offers this scholarship in her memory.
