Join us on 25th February for session 2 of our two-part webinar series in collaboration with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Mathematics Alliance! 'First Nations Australian navigation & mapping in the Australian curriculum: Mathematics for 7-10 educators'.

We invite you to a new webinar showcasing maths situations in First Nations Australian navigation and mapping in the Australian Curriculum: Mathematics for years 7-10 educators This webinar supports educators to showcase the deep time histories, cultures, and knowledges of First Nations Australians, specifically focusing on navigation and mapping. Through this rich context, teachers can engage with mathematics, offering students valuable learning experiences that align with the key concept of Country/Place in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories and Cultures cross-curriculum priority in the Australian Curriculum: Mathematics.

Traditional knowledges and practices will be showcased and intersected with contemporary practices and technologies, bringing together the incredible cultural knowledges and understandings of First Nations peoples with western science.

Participants will be able to access supporting materials such as Teacher Background Information that provides detailed information covered in the webinar.
