Maths in Schools teams attend conferences across Australia

We have been fortunate to attend and present at several state maths conferences across June and July this year, including the Maths Association of South Australia (MASA) conference, the Queensland Association of Maths Teachers (QAMT) conference and the Maths Association of Tasmania (MAT) conference.

Last week, Dr Caty Morris, ATSIMA, was the opening speaker for the MASA conference in Adelaide delivering the Carol Moule Keynote Address. Caty also delivered an engaging and hands-on Maths in Schools Culturally Responsive maths workshop. It was a noisy room of participants, sharing ideas and stories and learning together! The Maths Hub and Maths in School program trade booth was busy throughout the conference sharing ideas and resources with participants.

Sue Carter delivered two well received Maths in School workshops at the QAMT conference on the Gold Coast in early July. Introducing the Maths Hub and Maths in School professional learning resources.

Dr John West delivered a workshop at the MAT conference in Hobart introducing the Maths in Schools and Maths Hub resources to participants and hosting a trade booth. Eddie Woo was the keynote speaker who also provided some card trick ideas for fun in the classroom.

The team looks forward to attending other conferences across Australia over the coming months. If you would like to register your interest in a professional learning workshop from the Maths in Schools Team, register your interest here
