First Nations Australian navigation and mapping in the Australian Curriculum: Mathematics for 7-10 educators

In collaboration with ATSIMA, this webinar supports educators to showcase the deep time histories, cultures, & knowledges of First Nations Australians, specifically focusing on navigation & mapping. Through this rich context, teachers can engage with maths, offering students valuable learning experiences that align with the key concept of Country/Place in the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Histories & Cultures cross-curriculum priority in the Australian Curriculum: Maths. Traditional knowledges & practices will be showcased & intersected with contemporary practices & technologies, bringing together the incredible cultural knowledges & understandings of First Nations peoples with western science.

These webinars are part of the Australian Government Maths in Schools: Teaching and Learning Resources to Support Mathematics project.
